OneConnect Awarded Hong Kong Government Digital Transformation Contract
OneConnect has recently been awarded the tender for a core system cloud migration and architecture upgrade project issued by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). It stands among the contractors securing the largest contract values under the QPS5 (Qualified Professional Services Standing Agreement 5) framework, solidifying its technological leadership and comprehensive service capabilities in government digitalization.
For the cloud migration workstream, OneConnect deployed a cloud-native architecture to systematically migrate vital components of the core system onto the official government cloud platform. The revamp enables elastic resource scheduling, automated operations and maintenance, and intelligent monitoring, greatly lifting system scalability and intelligent O&M capacity, while laying a solid technical foundation for the full cloud migration of government services in the future.
In the architecture upgrade phase, OneConnect strengthened underlying cybersecurity protections for the core system. Beyond that, it drove a fundamental shift of the infrastructure from merely operational to user-friendly, trusted and intelligent. The upgraded architecture fully supports high-concurrency public services across a wide array of scenarios.
As Hong Kong’s first large-scale flagship government cloud migration replacement project, the initiative is pivotal to upgrading the city’s digital public service capacity and ensuring stable, secure operation of critical government systems. OneConnect ranks among the first technology vendors to deliver a completed government cloud migration deployment in Hong Kong, building a replicable demonstration model for digital government construction across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Serving as Ping An Group’s core overseas expansion gateway, OneConnect continues to roll out mature digital solutions validated extensively in the Chinese mainland market. Moving ahead, the company will anchor its operations in Hong Kong to deeply support the Greater Bay Area development strategy. Leveraging artificial intelligence and data technologies, OneConnect will push for interconnected digital identity frameworks and shared digital infrastructure across the region. With premium tailored products plus sustained accompanying on-site services, the firm will keep delivering sustained technological momentum to boost local digital government initiatives and digital economic growth throughout the Greater Bay Area.
